The clearest difference is rating: Crown Connect at 3.6 against NCSA Athletic Recruiting's 2.7. Crown Connect also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium). NCSA Athletic Recruiting's advantage is ratings volume (1.4K vs 40) and review sentiment (15% vs 0%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Crown Connect holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NCSA Athletic Recruiting has 1.4K ratings behind it against 40, so its average is the more settled of the two.
