# Ranking Filter vs Falling Filter Challenge

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Falling Filter Challenge at none against Ranking Filter's 3. Ranking Filter's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (11K vs 1.4K). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ranking Filter sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Falling Filter Challenge asks for nothing beyond the download.

Falling Filter Challenge holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ranking Filter has 11K ratings behind it against 1.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of Ranking Filter's written reviews are positive against 11% of Falling Filter Challenge's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ranking Filter ships an update monthly, Falling Filter Challenge every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
