# Readest vs Anx Reader

The clearest difference is rating: Readest at 4.5 against Anx Reader's 2.5. Readest also leads on ratings volume (185 vs 8) and review sentiment (84% vs 71%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Readest sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Anx Reader sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Readest holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Readest has 185 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 84% of Readest's written reviews are positive against 71% of Anx Reader's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
