# Readest vs CHM+

The clearest difference is rating: Readest at 4.5 against CHM+'s 3.0. Readest also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (191 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Readest sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and CHM+ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Readest holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Readest has 191 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 84% and 83% positive.

Readest ships an update fortnightly, CHM+ every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
