# Language Exchange vs AOTP

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: AOTP at none against Language Exchange's 4. AOTP also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). Language Exchange's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 6 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Language Exchange sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. AOTP asks for nothing beyond the download.

AOTP holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Language Exchange has 24 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Language Exchange ships an update every 8 days, AOTP every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
