# Carnyx vs Drum Lab

The clearest difference is update cadence: Drum Lab at every 6 days against Carnyx's every 5 weeks. Drum Lab also leads on ratings volume (19 vs 3). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Carnyx sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and Drum Lab sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Carnyx against 5.0 for Drum Lab. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Drum Lab has 19 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Carnyx ships an update every 5 weeks, Drum Lab every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
