# Fanfics vs Qento

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Qento at 100% against Fanfics's 47%. Qento also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.6). Fanfics's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (83 vs 8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fanfics sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Qento sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Qento holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fanfics has 83 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 47% of Fanfics's written reviews are positive against 100% of Qento's.

Fanfics ships an update every 4 days, Qento every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
