# Countdown Widget vs Critique AI

The clearest difference is monetization model: Countdown Widget at free with in-app purchases against Critique AI's subscription. Countdown Widget also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 4 weeks). Critique AI's advantage is ratings volume (9.8K vs 5). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown Widget sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Critique AI sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Countdown Widget against 4.7 for Critique AI. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Critique AI has 9.8K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of Countdown Widget's written reviews are positive against 36% of Critique AI's.

Countdown Widget ships an update weekly, Critique AI every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
