Every great meal begins with Soo-ee. Your personal sous chef. Sousy is a cookbook that helps you cook. Bring in the recipes you already love, put a few of them on the week, shop for them in one list, and then cook with someone standing next to you at the stove. GET YOUR RECIPES IN ONE PLACE Paste a link from a recipe site, TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram. Photograph a cookbook page or a handwritten card. Or tell her roughly how you make it and she writes it up for you to correct. Every recipe arrives in the same shape: ingredients, numbered steps, step timers, a prep list, tags, and a nutrition estimate per serving. FIND SOMETHING TO COOK Search your cookbook the way you talk. "Cozy soup for a rainy night" and "that chicken thing with peanuts" both find what you meant. Filter by time, group recipes into collections, or tap the dice and let Sousy choose. PLAN THE WEEK Put dinners on days, move them when plans change, and see the whole month at a glance. Change the servings for one night and the amounts follow. SHOP ONCE Send the week's ingredients to your grocery list at the servings you planned. Repeats merge into one line, and you can open a line to see which recipes wanted it. The list sorts by aisle and stays put while you shop. Kitchen keeps track of what you already have, from what you bought, what you told her, or a photo of your fridge. Mark the salt-and-oil things you always keep and they come off the list before you shop. Order the rest with Instacart, or send the list to someone as text. COOK STEP BY STEP Guided cooking starts with a game plan: the prep you can do first, and the steps it lets you skip. Then one step at a time, with that step's ingredients beside it, timers ready to start, and about when the next step begins. Timers keep running when you leave the app and ring on the lock screen. Leave a note mid-cook and it comes back the next time you cook that recipe. POINT AT THINGS INSTEAD OF DESCRIBING THEM Press and hold an ingredient, a step, a recipe card, or a day on the menu, and Sousy knows what you mean. Ask why the recipe wants that much, what to use instead, when it goes in, or whether tonight's dinner is covered by what is in the list. Stack two things and the questions get better. COOK WITH THE PEOPLE YOU LIVE WITH Invite your family or your roommates by email and you share one cookbook, one menu, and one grocery list. Whoever is at the store sees what whoever is at home checked off. ON YOUR IPHONE Share a recipe to Sousy from Safari, TikTok, or Instagram and it lands in your cookbook. Ask Siri what's for dinner tonight, or to start cooking a recipe. Tonight's dinner and your grocery list sit on the home screen, and the list's rows check off right on the widget. Ask Sousy has a lock screen size. Your recipes turn up in Spotlight when you swipe down and search. While you cook, your step, your progress, and the next timer show on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island. WORKS WHEN THE SIGNAL DOES NOT Once your cookbook has synced, browsing, search, checking off groceries, and guided cooking all work with no connection. Anything you change catches up when you are back. Everything syncs across your iPhone and iPad. FREE AND SOUSY PLUS Your cookbook, your week's menu, your grocery list, and step-by-step cooking are free. New accounts get a welcome allowance for bringing recipes in and talking to Sousy. Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Sousy at every 3 days against Morsel's monthly. Sousy also leads on ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Morsel sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Sousy sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Morsel against 5.0 for Sousy. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sousy has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.
Morsel ships an update monthly, Sousy every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
