# Emphasized vs Raven

The clearest difference is price: Emphasized at $2.99 against Raven's $12.99. Emphasized also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 75%) and iOS requirement (17.6 vs 26.0). Raven's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 4 months). On ratings volume, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Emphasized costs $2.99 and Raven $12.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Raven holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Emphasized's written reviews are positive against 75% of Raven's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Emphasized ships an update every 4 months, Raven every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
