# Private Browser vs HTML Keep

The clearest difference is rating: HTML Keep at 5.0 against Private Browser's 4.2. HTML Keep also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and update cadence (every 2 days vs monthly). Private Browser's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HTML Keep sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Private Browser asks for nothing beyond the download.

HTML Keep holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Private Browser has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of Private Browser's written reviews are positive against 100% of HTML Keep's.

Private Browser ships an update monthly, HTML Keep every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
