# InstaFlix vs HookReels

The clearest difference is ads: HookReels at none against InstaFlix's shown. HookReels also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. InstaFlix sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and HookReels sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

InstaFlix ships an update every 3 weeks, HookReels every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
