# Solar Planner vs Rool

The clearest difference is ads: Rool at none against Solar Planner's shown. Rool also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Solar Planner's advantage is update cadence (daily vs fortnightly). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Solar Planner sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Rool sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Solar Planner ships an update daily, Rool fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
