# Secure vs QR Code eScanner

The clearest difference is update cadence: QR Code eScanner at every 2 days against Secure's every 3 months. QR Code eScanner also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Secure ships an update every 3 months, QR Code eScanner every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
