# RDTap vs Fender Universal Control

The clearest difference is review sentiment: RDTap at 50% against Fender Universal Control's 5%. RDTap also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). Fender Universal Control's advantage is rating (2.5 vs 2.0) and ratings volume (38 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Fender Universal Control holds the better App Store score, 2.5 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fender Universal Control has 38 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of RDTap's written reviews are positive against 5% of Fender Universal Control's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RDTap ships an update fortnightly, Fender Universal Control every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
