# Haloreads vs WaStory

The clearest difference is rating: Haloreads at 4.7 against WaStory's 4.1. Haloreads also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4). WaStory's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (980 vs 10). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WaStory sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per 7 days. Haloreads asks for nothing beyond the download.

Haloreads holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WaStory has 980 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Haloreads's written reviews are positive against 62% of WaStory's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Haloreads ships an update every 2 weeks, WaStory every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
