# Haloreads vs MoReader

The clearest difference is rating: Haloreads at 4.7 against MoReader's 4.0. Haloreads also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 11). MoReader's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (303 vs 10). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MoReader sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Haloreads asks for nothing beyond the download.

Haloreads holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MoReader has 303 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Haloreads's written reviews are positive against 60% of MoReader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Haloreads ships an update every 2 weeks, MoReader fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
