# Smart Noter vs ThunderNotes

The clearest difference is rating: Smart Noter at 4.6 against ThunderNotes's 2.3. Smart Noter also leads on ratings volume (2.4K vs 3) and chart position (#160 vs unranked). ThunderNotes's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (67% vs 41%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart Noter sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and ThunderNotes sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Smart Noter holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Noter has 2.4K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Smart Noter's written reviews are positive against 67% of ThunderNotes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Smart Noter ships an update every 2 weeks, ThunderNotes every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
