# Smart Noter vs Proactor

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Smart Noter at 2.4K against Proactor's 189. Smart Noter also leads on chart position (#161 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart Noter sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Proactor sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Smart Noter against 4.5 for Proactor. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Noter has 2.4K ratings behind it against 189, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 41% of Smart Noter's written reviews are positive against 40% of Proactor's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
