# Smart Noter vs AI Notes

The clearest difference is monetization model: Smart Noter at free with in-app purchases against AI Notes's subscription. Smart Noter also leads on ratings volume (2.4K vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). AI Notes's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart Noter sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and AI Notes sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AI Notes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Noter has 2.4K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Smart Noter ships an update every 2 weeks, AI Notes every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
