# Sunmelon vs UV Reminders

The clearest difference is monetization model: Sunmelon at free with in-app purchases against UV Reminders's subscription. Sunmelon also leads on iOS requirement (16.1 vs 18.2). UV Reminders's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sunmelon sells 20 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and UV Reminders sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Sunmelon against 4.9 for UV Reminders. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UV Reminders has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sunmelon ships an update every 3 weeks, UV Reminders every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
