# Ello 2.0 vs Vimi

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Ello 2.0 at none against Vimi's 12. Ello 2.0 also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 9 days). Vimi's advantage is ratings volume (1K vs 69) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, monetization model, chart position and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Vimi sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Ello 2.0 asks for nothing beyond the download.

Vimi holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vimi has 1K ratings behind it against 69, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Ello 2.0's written reviews are positive against 58% of Vimi's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ello 2.0 ships an update every 2 days, Vimi every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
