# Compass XL vs Compass GPS

The clearest difference is ads: Compass XL at none against Compass GPS's shown. Compass XL also leads on ratings volume (16 vs 1). Compass GPS's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Compass XL sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Compass GPS sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Compass GPS holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Compass XL has 16 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
