# Fictional vs Astral

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Fictional at 50% against Astral's 25%. Astral's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fictional sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Astral sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Astral holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 184 and 375 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Fictional's written reviews are positive against 25% of Astral's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fictional ships an update every 2 weeks, Astral fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
