# RIFT NOTES + Voice Memos vs Slate

The clearest difference is rating: Slate at 5.0 against RIFT NOTES + Voice Memos's 4.7. Slate also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly). RIFT NOTES + Voice Memos's advantage is ratings volume (9 vs 1) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RIFT NOTES + Voice Memos sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Slate sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

RIFT NOTES + Voice Memos ships an update weekly, Slate every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
