# PDF Converter vs Fathom AI

The clearest difference is rating: PDF Converter at 5.0 against Fathom AI's 4.3. PDF Converter also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). Fathom AI's advantage is ratings volume (60 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Converter sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Fathom AI sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF Converter holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fathom AI has 60 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PDF Converter ships an update every 5 days, Fathom AI every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
