# Ice Comic vs ShelfStream

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Ice Comic at 35 against ShelfStream's 2. Ice Comic also leads on iOS requirement (15.5 vs 17.0). ShelfStream's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 89%) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ice Comic sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and ShelfStream sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Ice Comic against 5.0 for ShelfStream. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ice Comic has 35 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 89% of Ice Comic's written reviews are positive against 100% of ShelfStream's.

Ice Comic ships an update fortnightly, ShelfStream weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
