# I Am Security vs Droid Playground

The clearest difference is ads: Droid Playground at none against I Am Security's shown. Droid Playground also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly) and review sentiment (52% vs 41%). I Am Security's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and chart position (#97 vs unranked). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. I Am Security sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Droid Playground sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

I Am Security holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 92K and 31K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of I Am Security's written reviews are positive against 52% of Droid Playground's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

I Am Security ships an update monthly, Droid Playground every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 18, 2026.
