CampMate is an app for planning a camping trip and for using at the campsite. Plan a trip and choose your campsite on the map. Each trip gets a packing list. You tick items off as you pack, or send the list to Reminders. The weather forecast for your trip is saved on your phone, so you can read it at camp with no signal. The field guide has 70+ camping guides with step-by-step instructions. Examples: Light a wet-weather fire, Hang a food bag, Rig a tarp shelter, Treat a burn. You can read a guide one step at a time in large type. The app has 200+ knots. Each knot has an animation that shows how to tie it. Sunset times, packing lists, guides and knots all work with no signal. You can ask Siri what is left to pack. Widgets show the days until your trip and your packing list. The whole trip, in one app. OutPack is where backpackers plan, weigh, and remember every trip. Build a gear closet, map routes, plan meals, and pack once. No more juggling a spreadsheet, a maps app, and a notes app. Featured in Backpacker Magazine as a Best New Backpacking Trip Planner. GEAR CLOSET Track every item’s weight, category, and notes. Bundle items into kits — tent system, cook kit, first aid — then build packs from kits and loose items. Weight breakdowns by category show what’s actually driving your base weight. GPX ROUTES Plan on the map with road-snapping or free-draw mode. Drop waypoints, check distance and elevation, and import or export GPX. Maps work offline in the field. MEAL PLANNING Plan meals by trip day with calories, protein, carbs, fat, and food weight, plus running trip totals. No more guessing how much food to carry. TRIPS Seed a trip from a pack, add a route, and you’re set. Log timeline events, photos, and notes as the trip unfolds. Keep it private, make it public, or share it once you’re home. Built for: • Backpackers planning multi-day trips • Thru-hikers tracking base, worn, and consumable weight • Day hikers who want reusable kits for fast packing • Anyone switching from LighterPack for a tool built for the trail, not a browser tab
