# SpinningCat vs Vortis

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SpinningCat at none against Vortis's 1. SpinningCat also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). Vortis's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 19 months). On price, rating, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Vortis sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. SpinningCat asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for SpinningCat against 5.0 for Vortis. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SpinningCat has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SpinningCat ships an update every 19 months, Vortis every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
