# Spire vs Coherence

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Spire at none against Coherence's 6. Spire also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Coherence's advantage is ratings volume (631 vs 1) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Coherence sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Spire asks for nothing beyond the download.

Spire holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Coherence has 631 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Spire ships an update every 3 weeks, Coherence every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
