# Sphinx Hub vs Astral8

The clearest difference is ads: Astral8 at none against Sphinx Hub's shown. Astral8 also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Sphinx Hub's advantage is ratings volume (8 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.5). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Astral8 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sphinx Hub has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Sphinx Hub ships an update every 6 months, Astral8 fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
