# Playoff Computer vs MFL Modern

The clearest difference is rating: Playoff Computer at 5.0 against MFL Modern's 3.7. Playoff Computer also leads on ads (none vs shown). MFL Modern's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 50%) and ratings volume (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Playoff Computer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per year and MFL Modern sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Playoff Computer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Playoff Computer's written reviews are positive against 67% of MFL Modern's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Playoff Computer ships an update weekly, MFL Modern every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
