# Sonofield Ear Trainer vs VisualForte

The clearest difference is monetization model: VisualForte at free against Sonofield Ear Trainer's free with in-app purchases. Sonofield Ear Trainer's advantage is ratings volume (376 vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sonofield Ear Trainer sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and VisualForte sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Sonofield Ear Trainer against 5.0 for VisualForte. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sonofield Ear Trainer has 376 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
