# Buddy vs DuoType

The clearest difference is update cadence: DuoType at every 2 days against Buddy's every 5 days. Buddy's advantage is iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Buddy sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and DuoType sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Buddy ships an update every 5 days, DuoType every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
