# Hangul vs K12

The clearest difference is rating: Hangul at 4.8 against K12's 3.0. Hangul also leads on ratings volume (710 vs 2) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). K12's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hangul sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. K12 asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hangul holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hangul has 710 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Hangul ships an update every 3 weeks, K12 every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
