# The Step vs EmoNest

The clearest difference is update cadence: EmoNest at every 3 days against The Step's weekly. The Step's advantage is iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Step sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and EmoNest sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Step ships an update weekly, EmoNest every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
