# Sermon Scribe vs ScriptSearch

Sermon Scribe and ScriptSearch both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of ScriptSearch's written reviews are positive against 64% of Sermon Scribe's. ScriptSearch also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 6 days). Sermon Scribe's advantage is ratings volume (1.6K vs 32) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sermon Scribe sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and ScriptSearch sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ScriptSearch holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sermon Scribe has 1.6K ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 64% of Sermon Scribe's written reviews are positive against 100% of ScriptSearch's.

Sermon Scribe ships an update every 6 days, ScriptSearch every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
