# Tala Shruti vs MyTabla

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Tala Shruti at none against MyTabla's 2. Tala Shruti also leads on ratings volume (79 vs 1). MyTabla's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyTabla sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Tala Shruti asks for nothing beyond the download.

MyTabla holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tala Shruti has 79 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Tala Shruti's written reviews are positive against 62% of MyTabla's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tala Shruti ships an update every 2 months, MyTabla fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
