# WillPower Books vs Selcouth

WillPower Books and Selcouth both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Selcouth's written reviews are positive against 82% of WillPower Books's. Selcouth also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 9 days). WillPower Books's advantage is ratings volume (27 vs 4) and iOS requirement (14.0.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WillPower Books sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Selcouth sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for WillPower Books against 5.0 for Selcouth. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WillPower Books has 27 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 82% of WillPower Books's written reviews are positive against 100% of Selcouth's.

WillPower Books ships an update every 9 days, Selcouth every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
