# Top Hat vs Mental Math

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Top Hat at none against Mental Math's 3. Top Hat also leads on ratings volume (23K vs 2) and chart position (#198 vs unranked). Mental Math's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mental Math sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Top Hat asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mental Math holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Top Hat has 23K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
