# ThunderNotes vs Synapse

The clearest difference is update cadence: Synapse at every 2 days against ThunderNotes's every 5 days. ThunderNotes's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ThunderNotes sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Synapse sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
