# Lately vs Capsule

The clearest difference is rating: Lately at 4.6 against Capsule's 4.0. Lately also leads on ratings volume (46 vs 5). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lately sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Capsule sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lately holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lately has 46 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 94% of Lately's written reviews are positive against 90% of Capsule's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
