# Backgammon Online vs Backgammon Rounds

The clearest difference is ads: Backgammon Rounds at none against Backgammon Online's shown. Backgammon Rounds also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 10 days). Backgammon Online's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon Online sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Backgammon Rounds sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Backgammon Rounds holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon Online has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Backgammon Online ships an update every 10 days, Backgammon Rounds every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
