# Tinker vs GENGENGEN

The clearest difference is update cadence: Tinker at every 3 months against GENGENGEN's every 6 months. GENGENGEN's advantage is iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tinker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and GENGENGEN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tinker ships an update every 3 months, GENGENGEN every 6 months. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
