# BearAttack vs TextPort

BearAttack and TextPort both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 60% of TextPort's written reviews are positive against 20% of BearAttack's. TextPort also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BearAttack sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month and TextPort sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for BearAttack against 4.4 for TextPort. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TextPort has 1.5K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 20% of BearAttack's written reviews are positive against 60% of TextPort's.

BearAttack ships an update fortnightly, TextPort every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
