# FreeShort vs LoveReel

The clearest difference is ads: FreeShort at none against LoveReel's shown. FreeShort also leads on ratings volume (412 vs 32) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). LoveReel's advantage is review sentiment (33% vs 7%). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FreeShort sells 9 one-off in-app purchases and LoveReel sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FreeShort holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FreeShort has 412 ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 7% of FreeShort's written reviews are positive against 33% of LoveReel's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FreeShort ships an update every 8 days, LoveReel every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
