# Russian Stories vs BeFluent

The clearest difference is monetization model: Russian Stories at free with in-app purchases against BeFluent's subscription. Russian Stories also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (42 vs 7). BeFluent's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Russian Stories sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and BeFluent sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Russian Stories holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Russian Stories has 42 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 91% of Russian Stories's written reviews are positive against 83% of BeFluent's.

Russian Stories ships an update every 4 days, BeFluent weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
