# Sonic vs EB

The clearest difference is rating: EB at 5.0 against Sonic's 4.2. EB also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 60%) and in-app purchases (none vs 5). Sonic's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and ratings volume (26 vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sonic sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. EB asks for nothing beyond the download.

EB holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sonic has 26 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 60% of Sonic's written reviews are positive against 100% of EB's.

Sonic ships an update weekly, EB monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
