# YLP Player vs ProTube

The clearest difference is ads: ProTube at none against YLP Player's shown. ProTube also leads on ratings volume (16K vs 26) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). YLP Player's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 74%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YLP Player sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and ProTube sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ProTube holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ProTube has 16K ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of YLP Player's written reviews are positive against 74% of ProTube's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

YLP Player ships an update every 4 days, ProTube weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
